About EBSC - Our History

EBSC 1982 to 2002
The English Bay Swim Club has been around almost as long as Masters swimming in British Columbia, and we are one of the first gay and lesbian swim teams in the world. We've had a long and sometimes troubled relationship with the Masters Swimming Association of B.C. (MSABC), but remain one of the largest and certainly the most active teams in the province. EBSC Club Charter
We are very proud of our Charter as it states the principles on which EBSC was built. As with most documents of this nature, it can be a 'dry read' but it does give insight into the path the team has chosen to create & follow this past quarter century and the principles it hopes to follow into the next.

*Login instructions* - go to top of home page to enter 'Username'- EBSC-Equipment and 'Password' - pinkflamingo.
After Login select the 'Team Membership' link then select 'Store'. You will be given the option for the large or small backpack. The team colour is 'Carolina Blue' however you can order any colour you would like and you are free to order any other items on the site as well.
When checking out you will be given the option for Local Pickup after entering your billing and shipping information. Select this option to save shipping charges and you can pick up your items at the store in North Van (104-2411 Dollarton Hwy. .. first exit to the right off the Worker's Memorial/2nd Narrows Bridge .. 604-980-2805).

You can have the team logo embroidered on any item you would like. There are 3 logo sizes to choose: 2-3/4", 4", & 6". Order the 4 inch logo for backpacks - 6 inch for towels.

Our Records
English Bay Swim Club has a rich history of record setting swimmers (present & past) so we have decided to create an 'EBSC Club Records' section where we can tabulate and present these times. As this is a new addition to our web site, it will be a 'work in progress' and seeing that records are made to be broken, it will be in constant flux provided we receive input from the team membership. We will do our best to keep this section updated so if you see times listed in your age group that you have surpassed or if you see vacant records that you would like to put your name to, and there will be plenty of those as we create this club site!, please email us with your name / event (LC or SC) / time / month & year and they will be added!
