At English Bay Swim Club we offer several types of memberships. No matter if you are interested in Trial Membership to see if the club is a good fit for you, if you you are visiting from out-of-town and would like to swim with us during your time in Vancouver under a Visiting Swimmer Membership, or if you would like to join us for a full Annual Membership as a new or returning member. As a masters swim club, our minimum requirements for all memberships are:
you are 18+ years old at the time of registration
You can complete up to 2,000 meters during a one-hour practice
You’re comfortable swimming 400 meters of Freestyle (Front Crawl) nonstop
You’re proficient in at least one other stroke from the Individual Medley (IM): Backstroke, Breaststroke, or Butterfly (Note: Side stroke and variations of Front Crawl do not count toward this requirement)
Please note that EBSC is not a learn-to-swim club. We do not offer beginner swim lessons or instruction for those new to swimming. If you're looking to build foundational swim skills, we recommend checking out adult swim lessons offered by:
Our Annual Membership is perfect for swimmers who want to be fully engaged with the English Bay Swim Club throughout the year. It offers access to all scheduled practices, eligibility to participate in swim meets and social events. As a Masters Swim Club, our annual membership is open to all swimmers aged 18 and older and this membership supports a consistent and inclusive swimming experience in a fun and welcoming community.
How much is it? The Annual Membership fee for the 2025/26 Swim season is $115.00 plus taxes. Once registered as an annual member, you will need to purchase a monthly pass or a 4-pack to participate in our practices.

Trial Membership
You are interested in swimming with us, but not sure if English Bay Swim Club is the right fit for you? Before you commit to an annual membership, we offer potential new members this Trial Membership - at no cost - which offers you to participate in two practices.
How much is it? The Trial Membership is Free and valid for 2 weeks after registering for your first practice.
How do I register? In order to get registered for a Trial Membership, please reach out to our club registrar via email at [email protected]
Once you are set up with your membership via our registrar, you can register for your two free practices via your TeamUp account.
Visiting swimmer Membership
You are visiting our beautiful city of Vancouver during a vacation or a business trip and would like to continue with your swim practices? We have the right membership for you! You can register online for this membership - free of charge. Once you are registered, you will be able to sign up for our practices on a drop in basis during a 30 day period.
If you are already registered with a swim club in Canada or the US, no further action is required and you can register via the link below.
If you are an active member of a swim club outside Canada or the U.S., please provide us with:
proof of registration and being a member in good standing with your local Masters Swim Club
For insurance purposes we require verification that you have travel medical insurance as Participant Accident coverage through SwimBC policy would not extend to you.
