IT'S AS EASY AS 1, 2, 3....
STEP 1 : SIGN UP FOR YOUR 2 FREE TRIAL SWIMS |
Prospective new members are welcome to an evaluation period of 3 free swims, space permitting. To get your free trial, come to any of our workouts at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre and introduce yourself to one of the friendly faces at our check-in desk. Check the Workout Schedule to find a swim time that works for you. But please arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled workout time to get your paperwork done. You can help speed things up at the check-in desk by printing and filling in the club's mandatory waiver. Alternatively, you can simply show up at the sign-in desk and use your phone to finish the online waiver below.
You will be given a yellow trial swim card, which you must present to the check-in desk before each swim. (Trial swims need to be completed within two weeks from first sign-in) Please note that the sign-in desk closes 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the workout. You CANNOT swim with the team if you miss signing in. If you've never participated in a structured swim workout, you might want to familiarize yourself with our"swim etiquette and tips" to give yourself some idea how things work when you hop into a lane at practice. |
STEP 2 : COMPLETE YOUR TRIAL SWIMS |
Once you have completed your 3 free trial swims and you're still keen to swim with us, ask the coach if your skills are good enough to join the club. If he or she gives you the thumbs up, go to the next step.
|
STEP 3 : REGISTER |
Send a "request to join" email to the address shown on your yellow trial swim card. You will be given your registration information. Once you have completed your 3 free trial swims, you may not participate in any more practices until after you have registered.
Once a member, you can participate in any or all of the club's 4 swim workouts during the week. You are also encouraged to participate in social activities and swim meets. |

NOT SURE YOU CAN SWIM WELL ENOUGH TO JOIN?
If you want to swim with us but don't think your swimming ability is at the minimum required level, please take note of this!
From time to time EBSC offers a 'Masters 101' Program. The aim of the program is to bring your swimming ability up to our minimum swimming level at EBSC, and to help you improve your stroke technique and have a little fun along the way. If you decide not to join the club at the conclusion of the lessons, don't worry, there's no obligation to join. However, we look forward to providing you the opportunity to love swimming as much as we do!
If you are interested in the next session, or any future Masters 101 lessons, please check out our Masters 101 page!
If you are not a proficient swimmer, you might find us a bit challenging. "Learn-to-swim" programs are available at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre, and elsewhere.
